Cholesterol is essential. This was while I was at university in 1976 and this is what is being taught again, at last, after many years of drug company propaganda about ‘bad cholesterol’.
Here are some reasons why we need cholesterol.
- Our bodies need it to make many of our hormones.
- Healthy human body cells all contain lots of cholesterol, not least because the cholesterol in the cell walls allows nutrients in and waste products out.
Cholesterol is one of the main building blocks of our brains and is essential for forming and storing memories.
- Low cholesterol is associated with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Cholesterol is not harmful.
The blood test called cholesterol is NOT A MEASURE OF CHOLESTEROL! It is measured is a measure of lipoproteins.
If you would like to discuss cholesterol, lipoproteins, healthy fats, or vitamin D we can provide one-to-one training/support or training sessions for groups.
